Take your website offline, and bring it back

Show guests a holding page for a while without stopping Gate or the box office.

Last checked 10 October 2026

Where to find it: Park settings → Take your website offline, or console.parkstack.net/settings/website-offline.

Before you start: only an owner can take the website offline or bring it back. This switch is for a temporary problem or a period of big changes. Your team can keep editing the website while it is offline.

Take the website offline

  1. Enter a short Message for guests (optional), such as “We’re making some changes and will be back on Friday.” Leave it blank to use Parkstack’s standard message.
  2. Choose Take my website offline.
  3. Read the confirmation, then choose Take it offline. Guests see the holding page within a minute.

Tickets already sold keep working. Guests can open them and Gate can scan them. The box office keeps selling, but guests cannot buy online until the website is back.

Change the message or come back online

  1. Change Message for guests (optional) and choose Save the message if the website needs to stay offline.
  2. Choose Bring my website back online when the park is ready. The website and online ticket sales return straight away.

What guests see

While the website is offline, guests see a holding page with the park’s name and your message. No other website content is shown. Search engines are told that the change is temporary, so the park’s pages stay listed.

Things that stop it working

  • The old website still appears straight after you take it offline. Allow up to 1 minute, then refresh the page.
  • A guest needs tickets they already bought. Their ticket link still works. Gate can scan the ticket as usual.
  • The box office is open during the website work. Keep selling from Tickets → Box office. This website switch does not pause the till.
  • The holding page has the wrong message. Update Message for guests (optional) and choose Save the message.
