Use your own web address, and let search engines list it

Connect your park’s `www` address, make it the address guests see and allow search engines to list it.

Last checked 10 October 2026

Where to find it: Park settings → Website address, or console.parkstack.net/settings/domains. Search controls are under Park settings → Search engines, or console.parkstack.net/settings/search.

Before you start: only an owner can connect an address or change search settings. This is available on plans that include it. Have access to the company where your park’s domain is managed. Parkstack currently connects the www address only, not the address without www.

Connect the address

  1. Open Park settings → Website address and find Use a domain you already own.
  2. Enter the full www address under Website address, such as www.riversideadventurepark.example.
  3. Choose Add domain.
  4. Open the DNS settings at the company where the domain is managed. Add the CNAME shown under Add this DNS record: use www for Name / host and sites.parkstack.net for Points to. A CNAME is the record that points the address to Parkstack.
  5. Return to Parkstack and choose Check connection. You can choose it again while the domain company is still updating the record.
  6. Wait for the address to reach Active, then choose Use this as the address visitors see. Parkstack sets up the secure padlock for you.

Understand the statuses

  • DNS not detected means Parkstack cannot see the CNAME yet.
  • DNS detected means the record is visible and setup can continue.
  • Domain verification pending means ownership is being checked.
  • SSL certificate provisioning means the secure padlock is being prepared.
  • Active means the address and its secure certificate are ready.
  • Failed means setup could not finish. Read the message, check the CNAME and choose Check connection again.

Let search engines list the site

  1. Open Park settings → Search engines after the park’s own address is Active.
  2. Choose Allow search engines to list this site. Search engines may then show the park’s own address. Parkstack’s address is never listed.

Search engines decide when and whether a page appears, so this setting cannot promise a place in the results. Choose Stop listing in search if you later want Parkstack to ask them not to list it.

What guests see

Guests see the active address you chose, including on links and ticket checkout returns. The Parkstack address remains as a backup and sends guests to the park’s chosen address.

Things that stop it working

  • Parkstack asks for the www address. Enter the address beginning with www. The root address without it cannot be connected yet.
  • The status stays DNS not detected. Check that the record is a CNAME, the name is www and it points to sites.parkstack.net. Domain changes can take a few minutes to appear.
  • Search controls are not available. The park’s own address must be Active first. The Parkstack address cannot be listed by search engines.
  • Guests should use the Parkstack address again. Choose Use this as the address visitors see under Parkstack address, or choose Remove for the connected address. The Parkstack address keeps working.
