Get started: what to do in your first hour

Get the main parts of your park’s website ready, then see what is still worth checking before you share it.

Last checked 10 October 2026

Where to find it: Dashboard, or console.parkstack.net/.

Before you start: an owner can use the guided setup and finish every item on the checklist. Editors can help with website content afterwards. Have your logo, opening hours, contact details and a short description of one attraction ready.

You do not have to finish everything in one sitting. Choose Finish later or Skip this for now → and your saved work will still be there when you come back.

Steps

  1. Choose Finish setting up your park.
  2. Add Your logo under Your park so guests can see they have reached the right website.
  3. Enter One line about your park, using Riverside Adventure Park’s short description as your guide. This gives guests a quick sense of the place.
  4. Choose a starting design under Choose a look (optional) if you want Parkstack to lay out the homepage for you. You can change the design later.
  5. Choose Save and continue.
  6. Set the normal week guests can visit under Opening hours. Special dates and holiday hours can wait until later.
  7. Choose Save and continue.
  8. Enter the guest email, phone number, address and postcode under Finding you. The email receives messages from your website, and the address gives guests a map link.
  9. Choose Save and continue.
  10. Add one attraction under Something to do, such as Pioneer Railway. One is enough to make the new website useful; you can add the rest later.
  11. Choose Publish and continue, or choose I’ll add these later if you are not ready. Publishing here puts this attraction on your website.
  12. Choose whether guests buy tickets online or pay at the gate under Tickets, then complete the fields shown. You can change this choice later.
  13. Choose View my site ↗ under Check and finish and read through the website as a guest would. This is a good moment to spot a missing photo or an old phone number.
  14. Choose Finish setup.
  15. Return to Dashboard and check the open items under Before you open. Finished items move out of the way, so the list stays manageable.
  16. Choose the action beside an open item to go to the right page. Work through the list in the order that suits your park.

What guests see

Your website already has its own address during setup. Details you save can appear there straight away, and the attraction appears after you choose Publish and continue. Parkstack does not show the site to search engines until an owner turns that on. You have time to read through everything before people find it through Google.

Things that stop it working

  • The setup card is not there. Only an owner sees it. It also disappears after an owner chooses Finish setup.
  • An item is still open. Starting text does not count as finished under Before you open for Opening hours, Privacy or Ticket terms. Nothing has been lost. Choose the item and replace the starting details with information for your park.
  • A finished item has disappeared. Completed work moves to Already done. Open that section to see it.
  • You cannot move to the next setup step. Check the message on the page and complete the field it names. Your earlier steps have not been lost.
