Add your first attraction
Give guests a clear page for a ride, show, trail or exhibit, then put it on your website when it is ready.
Last checked 10 October 2026
Where to find it: Website → Attractions, or console.parkstack.net/attractions.
Before you start: owners and editors can add attractions. Have a photo and a sentence or two about the attraction ready.
Steps
- Choose Add attraction.
- Enter the Name guests know it by under The essentials, such as Thunder Run. Using the name from your signs helps guests recognise it at the park.
- Choose the attraction’s Type. This decides which planning details appear later in the form.
- Enter a Short summary for the attraction page and the list of attractions. Keep it to one sentence so guests can scan the list.
- Enter a Full description to help guests decide whether the attraction suits them. Use Bold, Link or • List above the box to make longer text easier to read.
- Check the Page address. Parkstack makes it from the name, so most parks can leave it as it is.
- Choose the Status after publishing under Guest planning information. This status changes only when you publish the page.
- Enter any useful details, such as Minimum height (cm) or Wheelchair access. These can save a guest from having to ask before their visit.
- Choose Upload under Photos for a new photo, or choose Choose from Media for one already in your media library.
- Describe a new photo for guests using a screen reader. Say what matters in the photo, not the file name.
- Choose Upload photo.
- Check that the photo you want in attraction lists is marked Thumbnail. The first photo you add is used, because guests see it before they open the page.
- Choose Publish attraction when the page is ready for guests. To stop here and come back later, choose Save draft instead. A draft is private.
What guests see
After you publish, the attraction appears on your website’s attractions page and gets its own page, usually within a few seconds. The thumbnail appears in lists. If you choose Save draft, nothing appears on your website and you can carry on later.
Things that stop it working
- The attraction is not on your website. Open it and check whether it says Draft. Choose Publish attraction when it is ready.
- The attraction is missing from the list. An attraction with Unlisted as its operating status keeps its own page but does not appear in public lists.
- You cannot publish. Check the highlighted field. A name and a page address are required. Anything else you entered is still in the form.
- The photo is not there. Choosing Upload first opens the description step. Choose Upload photo to finish adding it, then publish the attraction.
