Edit an attraction, and publish or keep changes as a draft

Update an attraction without rushing changes onto your website, or return to an earlier published version.

Last checked 10 October 2026

Where to find it: Website → Attractions, or console.parkstack.net/attractions.

Before you start: owners and editors can edit and publish attractions. Open the attraction you want to change, such as Thunder Run.

Steps

  1. Change the attraction’s wording, planning details or photos. Guests continue to see the published version while you work.
  2. Choose Save without publishing if you want to stop or ask a colleague to check the work. Nothing changes on your website until you choose Publish changes.
  3. Return to the attraction later and look for Published, with changes not live yet. This confirms that your private changes are safe and still waiting.
  4. Choose Publish changes when guests should see the new version. The saved draft then becomes the live page.

To throw away work that should not go live:

  1. Choose Discard changes.
  2. Choose Discard changes again in the confirmation window. The saved unpublished work is removed, but the published version stays on the website and in Version history.

To return to an earlier published version:

  1. Open Version history.
  2. Find the date you want and choose Restore this version. The website does not change at this point.
  3. Check the restored wording and photos. Parkstack keeps them as unpublished changes so you can make sure you chose the right version.
  4. Choose Publish changes when you are ready to put it on the website.

What guests see

Guests keep seeing the current published attraction while you save or restore private changes. They see the new version within a few seconds after you choose Publish changes.

Things that stop it working

  • There are no save or publish buttons. The buttons appear only after there is something to save or publish. If the page says it is published and up to date, there is no waiting change.
  • Your changes disappeared after you left the page. Changes in the form are not kept until you choose Save without publishing or Publish changes. The console warns you before leaving with unsaved work, but closing the browser can still lose it.
  • Version history has no earlier version. Parkstack keeps a copy when the attraction is published. A new attraction will not have an earlier copy yet.
  • A restored photo is missing. A photo that has since been deleted from Media cannot be restored with the attraction. Add another photo before publishing.
